Abbey Lozano
LMFT

Going by her middle name, Abbey was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She received her B.A. in child development in 2014 and her M.A. in marriage and family therapy (MFT) in 2019, becoming licensed in CA in 2023. Prior to licensure, Abbey obtained MFT internship hours at a high school providing individual and group counseling services. She then transitioned into community mental health, working as a bi-lingual Spanish speaking therapist addressing a variety of mental health concerns with all ages. In 2022, Abbey moved to Ruston, LA to begin her doctoral studies in Counseling Psychology at Louisiana Tech University. During this time, she has worked as a practicing clinician at a community mental health clinic in Ruston and at Louisiana Tech’s counseling center. Due to wanting to continue her work as an LMFT, Abbey applied for her Louisiana MFT license, which was approved in 2025.

Abbey’s therapeutic approach allows the client to guide the session, ensuring clients feel seen, heard, and valued. Additionally, she uses cognitive behavioral therapy to address the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, solution focused therapy to target change through the client’s strengths, and dialectical behavioral therapy to address emotion regulation. Abbey is skilled in working with children and adults in addressing issues related to anxiety, phobias, trauma, and sleep. I accept individuals, couples, and families.
